Mrs. Joannah Stanfield Herbert of South Boston, VA died Tuesday, August 13th at the age of 91.

 

Mrs. Herbert was born in Halifax County, VA on January 11, 1933 to the late Lina Frances Stanfield and was married to the late Louis James Herbert, Sr. She was a member of Peaceful Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a nurse’s assistant for 28 years at the former Twin Oaks Nursing Home.

 

Mrs. Herbert is survived by (4) children: Clifton Herbert and Louis Herbert, Jr., both of South Boston, VA, Joan Martin (Reginald) of Halifax, VA and Rev. Deborah Chandler (Miles) of Ft. Worth, TX; (7) grandchildren; (17) great grandchildren; (4) great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Ronald Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by (1) daughter, Lina Doreena Taylor.

 

Funeral service for Mrs. Joannah Stanfield Herbert will be held Saturday, August 17th at 11 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with Rev. Miles Chandler, eulogist. Burial will follow at Peaceful Tabernacle Baptist Church.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon to 6 at The Crawford House in Halifax.
