Ms. Catherine Vernell Edmonds of South Boston, VA died Thursday, September 19th at the age of 76.

 

Ms. Edmonds was born in Halifax County, VA on February 13, 1948 to the late Booker T. Edmonds and Susie Terry Edmonds. She was a member of Union Grove C.M.E. Church.

 

Ms. Edmonds is survived by (2) sons: Reginald Cordell Edmonds and Shelley Roderick Edmonds; (4) grandchildren: O’Neishea Woodson (Re’Shawn), Tyler Glass, Shelquon Edmonds and Xavier Edmonds; (1) great grandchild, Orion Woodson; (1) daughter-in-law: Iris Glass Edmonds; (1) sister-in-law, Lena Edmonds; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by (3) sisters: Mildred Coffee, Mary Pearl Edmonds and Nancy Davis; and (3) brothers: Henry Maine Edmonds, Harry Edmonds and Algie Edmonds.

 

Funeral services for Ms. Catherine Vernell Edmonds will be held Thursday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA. Burial will follow in Union Grove C.M.E. Church Cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home of Ms. Sheila Puryear, 820 Greenway Drive, South Boston, VA.
