Mrs. Mary Anna Wilkins “Anna” of Alton, VA died on December 14th at the age of 102.

 

Mrs. Wilkins was born September 14, 1922 in Halifax County, VA to the late Walter Crawley, Sr. and Maggie Brandon Crawley.  She was married to the late George Wilkins and was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Wilkins is survived by (3) brothers: Allen Thomas (Audrey) of Waynesboro, VA, Joseph Traynham (Mary) and Charlie (Malinda), all of Alton, VA; (2) sisters: Ida Bell Robertson of South Boston, VA and Willie Marie Crawley of Fort Washington, MD; (3) sisters-in-law: Gladys Crawley, Odella Crawley and Sarah Crawley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (5) brothers: Walter Jr., John Henry, George Washington, James Kelso and Frankie; (2) sisters: Mamie Lee Richardson (Sterling) and Dora Alice Mason (Roger).

 

Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Anna Wilkins will be Friday, December 20th at noon at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Wilkerson, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
