Mr. John Alfred Wilson of South Boston, VA died on Wednesday, December 25th at the age of 78.

 

Mr. Wilson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on February 17, 1946 to Ellen Smith Wilson and the late John Earl “Jack” Wilson. He was married to Mildred Burns Wilson and was a member of First Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Mildred Burns Wilson of the home; (1) daughter, Deaconess Dr. Sharonda Burns Ragland; (3) sons: James Wilson (Ursula), Marvin Wilson, and Kevin Burns (Angie); (14) grandchildren, with one raised as a son, Marvin Jackson; (8) great grandchildren; his mother, Ellen Smith; (1) god-daughter, Tonkaneka Ferrell; (1) sister, Diane Wilson; (4) brothers: Connie Wilson (Theresa), Earl Wilson (Becky), Ricky Wilson, and Vernon Wilson (Geraldine); (1) aunt; (1) uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by (1) son, Raishun Wilson.

 

Funeral services for Mr. John Alfred Wilson will be Tuesday, December 31st at 11:00 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax, VA with Rev. Allan G. Smith, eulogist.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
