Mr. George Frank Harvey Ewell of South Boston, VA died January 24, 2024, at the age of 100.

Mr. Ewell was born January 11, 1924, in Halifax County, VA to the late Willie Giles Ewell and Amanda Edmonds Ewell. He was married to the late Annie Myrtle Ewell and was a member of New Vernon Baptist Church.  Mr. Ewell was a World War II United States Veteran.

Mr. Ewell is survived by (3) daughters: Sallie E. Malone (Roland) of Alton, VA, Amanda Crowder (Melvin) and Wanda Stephens (Donnell), all of South Boston, VA; (1) son: Sylvester Ewell (Geraldine) of South Boston, VA; (24) grandchildren; (32) great grandchildren; (10) great great grandchildren; (1) brother: Johnnie Ewell (Susie) of South Boston, VA; (3) sons-in-law; (2) daughters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by (1) daughter: Georgia Thrower; (3) sons: Willie A. Ewell, James D. Ewell and Phillip Ewell, Sr.; (7) sisters and (7) brothers.

Funeral services for Mr. George Frank Harvey Ewell will be Monday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at New Vernon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 99.

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
