Mrs. Alice Cornell Leigh Davis of Halifax, VA died Saturday, January 27th at the age of 79.

 

Mrs. Davis was born in Halifax County, VA on July 12, 1944 to the late Belgium Leigh and the late Alice Bailey Edmonds Leigh. She was married to the late John Davis and was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist church.

 

Mrs. Davis is survived by her (5) siblings: Rev. Louis S. Leigh, Sr. (Ruby), Rev. John Leigh (Thelma) and Georgia Leigh Sims, all of Halifax, VA, Derwin Leigh (Helen) and Emma Leigh Chappell, all of South Boston, VA; (1) sister-in-law, Marie Crews Leigh of Halifax, VA; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (4) brothers: Joe Leigh, Edward Leigh, William Leigh and Grover Leigh; and (1) sister: Grace Leigh Hubbard.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Cornell Leigh Davis will be Thursday, February 1st at noon at Crystal Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax.
