Mr. Jimme C. Ragland of Virgilina, VA died on Monday, February 3, 2025 at the age of 73. Mr. Ragland was born in Halifax County on March 24, 1951 to the late Eugene Ragland and Helen Harris Ragland.

He was married to Gwendolyn O. Ragland and was a member of Blue Wing Grove Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member and served as Chairman of the Trustee Board.

Mr. Ragland is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Chris Ragland (Latisha); one daughter, LeShina Medley (LeVar); bonus children; Jacqueline Thorpe (Micheal), Cedric Stovall (Cindy) and Chet Edmunds; goddaughter, Ebony Green (Russell); former daughter-in-law, Sharonda Ragland; two sisters: Dorothy Faulkner and Lillian Mozell Wade; sisters-in-law: Margaret Owen, Odella Oliver, Agnes DeWitt; brothers-in-law: Robert Oliver (Julia) and Roy Owen; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m. at Blue Wing Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Graham Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 1085 Faulkner Loop, Virgilina, VA 24598.
