Mr. Onzie Obie Womack of Vernon Hill, VA died Saturday, October 8th at his residence at the age of 92.

Mr. Womack was born Halifax County, VA on September 30, 1930 to the late Jossie Womack. He was married to the late Mary Womack and was a member of New Vernon Baptist Church.

Mr. Womack is survived by (5) children: Emma Sutphin of Newport News, VA, Onzie Jr. Womack of the home, James Womack (Barbara) and John Womack (Vecennes), all of South Boston, VA and Grindle Martin (Charles) of Halifax, VA; (8) grandchildren including his devoted care giver: Monica Womack; (4) great grandchildren; (2) sisters: Mabel Carrington and Dorothy Fullen; (1) brother: Willie Womack (Rose); (1) sister-in-law; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends. In addition to his wife and mother, he was preceded in death by (3) children: Glen O. Womack, Robert L. Womack and Alice M. Womack; (4) brothers and (3) sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Onzie Obie Womack will be Saturday, October 15th at 2 p.m. at New Vernon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral home.
