Ms. Ora Lee Owen died on Saturday, November 27th at the age of 75.

Ms. Owen was born April 16, 1946 in South Boston, VA to the late Mabel Harris and Charles H. Betts. and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and retired from D-Scan Industries.

Ms. Ora Lee Owen is survived by (2) daughters: Katina King of the home and Tonya Paniel of Virginia Beach, VA; (2) brothers: Frederick Betts of South Boston, VA and Thomas Betts of Danville, VA; (6) grandchildren; (1) aunt: Lucy Hughes; (2) close friends: Cassandra Ferrell and Lorena Veaney; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (1) daughter: Teasha Paniel; (5) brothers: Bishop Charles E. Betts, Cornelius Betts, Melvin Betts, Irvin Betts and Gregory Betts; and (1) sister: Phyllis Hayes.

Funeral services for Ms. Ora Lee Owen will be Saturday, December 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston, VA with Elder Fredrick Betts, eulogist. Burial will follow at Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston, VA.  A face mask and social distancing is required.
