Mrs. Peggy Edmonds Richardson of Halifax, VA died Monday, December 6th at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC at the age of 61.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Halifax County, VA on November 16, 1960 to Daisy Irene Edmonds. She was married to Douglas Richardson and was a former teacher for Halifax County Public Schools . Peggy was a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband: Douglas Richardson of the home; (1) daughter: Lashay Richardson of South Boston, VA; (1) son: Garren Richardson (Torii) of Lillington, NC; (2) grandchildren: Zane and Zara Richardson, both of Lillington, NC; her mother: Daisy Edmonds; (2) sisters: Mary Edmonds and Ramona Edmonds, both of South Boston, VA; (5) sisters-in-law; (3) brothers-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a devoted niece, Shanice Davis and loyal friends, Linda, Toni and Lou. Peggy was preceded in death by (5) brothers: James, Harry, Robert, Richard and LeeAndrew Edmonds; and loyal friend/sister: Martha P. Davis.

Graveside services for Mrs. Peggy Edmonds Richardson will be held Tuesday, December 14th at 1:00 p.m. with services at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Wilkerson officiating. A face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
