Mr. Raleigh John Womack of Halifax, VA died on Tuesday, April 19th at the age of 94.

Mr. Womack was born in Halifax County, VA on March 8, 1928 to the late Aline Ferrell Chandler and the late Johnnie B. Womack. He was married to the late Annie Mae Barksdale and later married the late Eva Hodges Carrington Womack. He was a member of New Vernon Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industry after 33 years of service.

Mr. Womack is survived by (1) daughter: Starling W. Brown; (4) sons: Raleigh Luvel Womack (Angela), Corkie Womack (Glenda), Dean Womack (Diana) and Michael Carrington (Michele); (3) brothers; (2) sisters; (13) grandchildren; (18) great grandchildren; (1) great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends including a faithful niece, Arnitra Harris. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by (2) daughters: Anne Marie Womack and Frances Carrington; (2) sons: Woodrow Carrington and Roger Carrington and (5) siblings.

Graveside services for Mr. Raleigh John Womack will be Thursday, May 5th at 1 p.m. at New Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Elliott pastor and eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress.

Following COVID -19 guidelines a face mask and social distancing will bo required.
