Mr. Richard Leon “RL” Kent, Sr. of South Boston, VA died June 9th at the age of 92.

Mr. Kent was born in Halifax County on April 2,1929 to the late Robert Kent and Harriett Ewell Kent. He was married to the late Joyce Ann Witt Kent and was a United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Kent is survived by (4) daughters: Aquanetta Cabral of Baltimore, MD, Veroncia K. Calloway (Charlie) of South Boston, VA, Adrienne Kent of Manhatten, NY and Yolanda Tate of Durham, NC; (3) sons: Richard Leon Kent, Jr. (Karla) of Midlothian, VA, Lenox Kent and George Chappell, both of South Boston, VA; (5) grandchildren; (1) sister-in-law; (1) brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by (1) daughter: Dollye “Dee Dee” Kent.

A memorial service for Mr. Richard Leon “RL” Kent, Sr. will be Wednesday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Cemetery.
