Robert Dorsey Owen, Jr. of Halifax County, VA died Sunday, July 31st at South Boston Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 75.

Mr. Owen was born in Halifax County, VA on May 27, 1947 to the late Robert Dorsey Owens, Sr. and Dorothy Walker Owens. He was married to the late Delia “Dee” Owen and was a US Army and US Airforce Veteran. Mr. Owen was a former employee of Daystrom Furniture and Westinghouse.

Mr. Owen is survived by (1) sister: Mary Owens James of Cumberland, VA; (1) brother: William Holt Owens of Halifax, VA; (1) brother-in-law: Roger James of Cumberland, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Owens.

Funeral services for Robert Dorsey Owen, Jr. will be held Tuesday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA and with military rites. Rev. Frank Carr officiating and Rev. Mattie Carr as eulogist. Burial will be in Amelia Veterans Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be on Monday at The Crawford House from noon until 6:00 p.m. A face mask is required.
