Mr. Roger Trelliven Carrington of South Boston, VA died Monday, January 10th at the age of 72.

Mr. Carrington was born in Halifax County on June 9, 1949 to the Late Woodrow Wilson Carrington, Sr. and Eva Sally H. Womack and was married to Vernesta Guthrie Carrington. He was a member of New Hope C.M.E. Church and was a former employee of Burlington, Industries and Westinghouse/ABB for many years. Mr. Carrington was also a United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Carrington is survived by his bonus father: Raleigh Womack; his wife: Vernesta Carrington; previous wife: Gladys L. Frierson; (2) daughters: Norlishia Chloe Woodson (Rodney) and TaWanda W. Edmonds; (15) grandchildren; (1) great grandchild; (3) sons: Damon Guthrie (Doreen), Darrell Guthrie (Patricia) and Derrick Guthrie; (4) brothers: Michael Ross (Michele), Raleigh L. (Angela), Corkie L. (Glenda) and Dean M. (Diana); (1) sister: Starling Womack-Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including the devoted John Garner, George Rodgers and Carl Vickers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) sister: Frances L and (1) brother: Woodrow W.

Funeral services for Mr. Roger Trelliven Carrington will be Tuesday, January 18th at 1 p.m. The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA with Rev. Ronnie Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope C.M.E. Church Cemetery, Halifax, VA.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
