Mrs. Stella Faulkner Newman died on Thursday, July 14th at the age of 73.

Mrs. Newman was born November 20, 1948 in Halifax County, VA to the late Claude S. Faulkner and Dorothy L. Faulkner. She was married to the late Cecil D. Newman. Mrs. Newman was a member of Jeter Chapel Baptist Church and was employed at Tultex for many years.

Mrs. Newman is survived by (2) daughters: Kimberley L. Brooks and Bernadette R. Waller; (3) sons: Johnnie M. Brooks, Curtis R. Brooks (Button) and Gregory L.D. Waller (Boogie); (2) stepchildren: Kecia Newman Long (Byron) and Kevin Newman; (8) grandchildren; (5) great grandchildren; (2) brothers: Clyde Faulkner (Retia) and Lenard Faulkner (Sandora); (2) sisters: Virginia M. Williams and Ruby F. Bass (Lawrence); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Diane Peyton, Jacqueline Strikens, Katie M. Owen and Louise Chandler. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (2) brothers: Freeman Faulkner and Tyrone Faulkner.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Faulkner Newman will be held Friday, July 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev. Antori Brown, eulogist. Burial will follow in Jeter Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be from noon until time of the service.
