Mrs. Vanvassel Overbey Terry “Van” died Saturday, November 6th at the age of 89.

Mrs. Terry was born in Charlotte County, VA on April 11, 1932 to the late Daniel Overbey and Harriett Anna Thomas Overbey and was married to the late Deacon Harvey C. Terry, Sr. She was a member of ST. Paul C.M.E Church.

Mrs. Terry is survived by (2) daughters: Belva T. Owen of South Boston, VA and Christine Terry-Warren of Fort Washington, MD; (3) sons: Harvey C. Terry and S. Donnell Terry, both of Halifax, VA and Richard Terry of Capitol Heights, MD; (2) grandchildren she raised: Jermaine Terry and Shavone “Nikki” Terry; (3) sisters-in-law; (1) brother-in-law; (13) grandchildren; (29) great grandchildren; (7) great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (6) brothers; (5) sisters; and (1) great grandson: Ontario Epperson.

Graveside service for Mrs. Vanvassel Overbey Terry will be Saturday, November 13th at 11 a.m. at St. Paul C.M.E. Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Terry officiating.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A face mask and social distancing will be required.
