Mrs. Vida Marsha Logan Simpkins of Chesapeake, VA formerly of Halifax County died Sunday, August 29th at the age of 60.

Mrs. Simpkins was born in Halifax County, VA on August 9, 1961 to the late John Buck Logan, Sr. and Marion Ballou Kent Logan and was married to Reginald Simpkins. She was a retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and Police Department.

Mrs. Simpkins is survived her husband: Reginald Simpkins of the home; (1) son: Reginald D. Simpkins (Tamira) of Chesapeake, VA; (1) god son: Quinyon Davenport of Chesapeake, VA; (7) grandchildren; (1) great grandchild; (7) brothers: Willie Kent (Charlene), John B. Logan, Jr (Patricia), George Logan, Lacy Hammock (Crystal) Andre Logan, Rickey Stevenson (Lisa) and Jerry Stevenson (Shannon); (5) sisters: Jacqueline Venable, Letticia Nichol (Christopher), Linda Trayham (Cornell), Shavonda Richardson (Gatha) and Deanna Robinette (Douglas); step mother: Dorothy Logan;(1) daughter-in-law: Kimberly Simpkins; (2) aunts; (1) uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and devoted friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (4) brothers: John Kent, Frank Kent, Marshall Logan, and Myron Logan and (1) sister: Juanita Logan.

Graveside service for Vida Marsha Logan Simpkins will be held Friday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Halifax with Rev. Christopher Nichols, eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
