Mr. William Edward Carden of Dryburg Road, Scottsburg, VA died Sunday, February 14th at his residence at the age of 70.

Mr. Carden was born on February 19, 1950 in Halifax County, VA to the late Mr. Clarence Carden and Mrs. Willie Naomi Mitchell Carden. He attended Spanish Grove Baptist Church and was a former employee of Burlington Industries for over 40 years and Sunshine Mills for over 10 years.

Mr. Carden is survived by (2) daughters: Ms. Nora Carden of Upper Marlboro, MD and Ms. Gloria Carden of Laurel, MD; (1) step-daughter: Ms. Amy Mitchell of Capital Heights, MD; (2) sons: Mr. Stephen Carden and Mr. Timothy Carden, both of Largo, MD; (4) grandsons; (1) granddaughter; (2) sisters: Mrs. Margaret Coles of Scottsburg, VA and Ms. Ruth West of New Jersey; (2) brothers: Mr. Luther Carden (Annette) of Winchester, VA and Mr. Roosevelt Carden (Phyllis) of Scottsburg, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. William Edward Carden will be held Tuesday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. with services at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop John Williams officiating. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, there will be limited seating. A face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
