Mr. Willie Gunn of Greensboro, NC and formerly of Halifax, County died Friday, April 22nd at the age of 85.

Mr. Gunn was born in Halifax County, VA on September 17, 1936 to the late John Henry Gunn and Frances Bailey Gunn and was married to the late Christine Gunn. He joined Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church in Alton, VA and retired from The Department of Corrections after 30 years of service.

Mr. Gunn is survived by (4) daughters: Deborah McCain and Tina Williams (Terrell), both of Greensboro, NC, Cynthia Gunn of Roxboro, NC and Pamela Locklear of Mebane, NC; (2) sons: William Randall Gunn of Wilmington, NC and Willie Elbert Gunn, Jr. of Durham, NC; (2) brothers: James Gunn (Helen) of Temple Hills, MD and Robert Claiborne of Canton, OH; (1) brother-in-law: Manzie Smith; (8) grandchildren; (4) great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Dorthia Mae Drumwright and Sarah Smith; and (1) brother: Walter Henderson Gunn.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Gunn will be Thursday, April 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Minister William Gunn, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
