Mrs. Willie Mae Davis Jones of L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax, VA died Wednesday, July 6th at her residence at the age of 93.

Mrs. Willie Mae Davis Jones was born in Halifax County, VA on January 5, 1929 to the late Charlie Davis and Louise Traynham Davis. She was married to the late Henry Jones, Sr. and was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones is survived by (1) daughter: Louise Byrd (Larry) of Halifax, VA; (2) sons: Lawrence “Larry” Jones (Florence) of the home and Kenneth Jones of Rustburg, VA; a host of grandchildren, including three devoted grandsons, Curtis “Jermaine” Hill (Graciala), Lashawn Hill and Orlando Hill; a host of great grandchildren; (2) daughters-in-law: Carolyn Jones and Anna Jones; (2) sisters-in-law: Geneva Jones and Gracie Wilson; a devoted caregiver: Deborah “Jane” Forest; a special friend: Shirley Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Willie Mae was preceded in death by two sons, Henry “Hank” Jones, Jr. and Curtis Jones.

Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Davis Jones will be held Wednesday, July 13th at 2:00 p.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax, VA with Rev. Quincy Mitchell as eulogist. Burial will follow in Millstone Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be two hours prior to the service.

A face mask and social distancing is required.
