Mr. Willie Royal Sydnor, Sr. of Sweeney Trail, Halifax, VA died Sunday, April 10th at the age of 74.

Mr. Sydnor was born in Halifax County, VA on February 27, 1948 to the late Alice Sydnor and Thomas Newton. He was a member of First Baptist Church on Ferry Street.

Mr. Sydnor is survived by (3) children: Willie Sydnor, Jr. and Twionee Sydnor, both of South Boston, VA and Shawnee Dixon of Vernon Hill, VA; (4) grandsons; (1) great granddaughter; (1) niece; and a host of other relatives and friends including devoted caregivers, Susie Carver and James Faulkner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) sibling: Shirley Coleman.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Royal Sydnor, Sr. will be held Friday, April 15th at 11 a.m. with services at First Baptist Church on Ferry Street with Rev. Dr. Allen Smith, eulogist. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The family has requested that all attendees wear a face mask.

Public viewing for family and friends will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
