Obituary

Mr. Wylie “Wy-Wy” Brandon died on Friday, October 29th at the age of 87.


Mr. Brandon was born in Halifax County, VA on July 2, 1934 to the late Rosetta Brandon Jeffress and was a member of Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in Halifax County Public Schools and retired from Southern Process Tobacco Company.


Mr. Wylie ” Wy-Wy” Brandon is survived by (1) step-son: Earl Carrington, Jr. of South Boston, VA; (2) daughters: Vanessa Woods of Alton, VA and Joyce Ann Carver of Durham, NC; (2) grandchildren: Vanetta Graham–Gunter of Burlington, NC and Isaac Graham of Danville, VA; (3) great grandchildren: Kamil Haith, Asiah Graham and JaBre Williams; (1) sister: Pearline Powell (Willie); (1) brother: Solomon Jeffress (Sheila); (2) special friends: Charlie Jeffreys and Mary Logan and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by (1) sister: Arlene Jeffress and his grandparents: Charlie and Sara Jane Brandon.


Funeral services for Mr. Wylie “Wy- Wy” Wylie Brandon will be Friday, November 5th at noon at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Brandon, eulogist. Burial will follow at Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.


Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. A face mask and social distancing will be required.
