After a long courageous life, Yvonne Briggs Paniel took her heavenly flight on Friday, March 19, 2021 to rest in peace with “Our Father” surrounded by her family at the age of 76.

Yvonne was born on May 6, 1944 in South Boston, VA to the late Alexander and Susie Norwood Briggs and was married to the late Nick Paniel. She professed her love for Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Berry Hill Baptist Church in South Boston, VA where she served faithfully until moving to Washington, DC to begin a career and life with her family.

Yvonne leaves to cherish precious memories, (1) daughter: Angella Pritchett of Jessup, MD; (1) grandson: Kevis Pritchett, Sr. (Shadonna); (1) great grandson: Kevis Pritchett, Jr. (the apple of her eye), all of Columbia MD; (1) brother: William Briggs (Bernadette) of Woodbridge, VA; (5) sisters: Janie Brown of Philadelphia, PA, Mildred Patterson of Smyrna, DE, Maria Scott of South Boston, VA, Ann Coleman of Panama City, FL and Linda Briggs of Greensboro, NC; (2) god daughters: Raven and MeShon Makins; sisters and brothers-in-law: Theresa Bowman (Barry), Andrew Paniel (Susie), Jerry Paniel, and Willie Paniel and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (4) brothers: Wilkins, Abraham, James and Reginald; and (3) sisters: Mary, Rosa and Frances.

Funeral service for Yvonne Briggs Paniel will be held Saturday, April 3rd at 11 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jeter Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, South Boston, VA.

At the request of the family there will be no public viewing.

Following Covid 19 guidelines, seating will be limited, a face mask and social distancing is required.
