Zhykierra Zhane’ Guy, age 22 of Richmond, VA was called home to God during the early morning hours on August 5th, 2022. She was born March 25, 2000 at the Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, VA.

Zhykierra also known to many as “Zhy” was baptized at County Line Baptist Church at an early age. She attended the Richmond public school(s) Chimborazo Elementary which she was a scholar roll student. She played the violin and basketball at Binford Middle, a star track athlete (with several awards 1st-2nd place) and a competitive swimmer on the swim team at Armstrong High. During her sophomore year at high school she enrolled into a vigorous college program where she was able to attend community college at J. Sergeant Reynolds. Shortly after, during her Junior year she received recognition for her hard work and received the Dean’s List award. Later, after graduating high school in 2018 she obtained the Governor’s Certificate of Recognition and an Associate’s degree in Social Studies/Science for successfully completing the rigorous requirements for the Early College Scholars Program.

She was a recent William and Mary College Graduate with a degree in Business with a minor in Law. Her greatest aspiration was to become an entrepreneur and focus her efforts to changing the laws and broken system that affects the black community. Zhy was self-employed, the owner of an online retail hair business called Lavish Hair Zesty girls and co-owner of LHZG Enterprises LLC established in 2021. She was a member of a dance team at William & Mary. Also, received notoriety from a well-known designer “Steve Madden” after she tagged their page on Instagram and was asked if they could repost her picture on their brand/website. She was dedicated to giving all of her love and concerns to family and friends. Her energy and soul touched the lives of everyone she met.

Ms. Guy is survived by her parents: Lakisha Hamlett and Shanta Guy, both of Richmond VA; (1) brother: Atnahs Guy of Richmond VA; grandparents: Linda Hamlett, Elma Glass (Garland) and James Humbles; great grandparents: Patricia Sturdivant (James) and Harold Hamlett, Sr.; godmother: Tanisha Hamlett; devoted cousin: Vantrese Boyd; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Ms. Zhykierra Zhane Guy will be Monday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m. at County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Otis R. Dillard, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday, August 14th from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
